We welcome you and your child to the Ashgrove West Kindy community
Enrolment at Ashgrove West Kindy is limited to 88 placements for pre-prep children aged between 3½ (children turning 4 by 30th June of the year they attend) to 5 years old, who elect us as their preferred kindergarten to receive the government subsidy.
A guide to assist with your child’s year of birth and year they can begin their preschool learning at Ashgrove West Kindy is below:

Offers are sent from May of the year prior to attendance in accordance with the order of the waiting list.
Your child can be placed on the waiting list from birth, by completing the Waiting List Form.
Ashgrove West Kindy supports returning/sibling families with continuity of relationships to siblings of children already attending C&K Ashgrove West Preschool.
Sibling policy entitles eligible child to an enrolment offer if:
- An older sibling has previously been enrolled and attended the Kindy for 12 months:
- The child’s name is on the waiting list by 30 April prior to the year of entry; and
- A position available.
If your child has special needs, Ashgrove West Kindy offers an inclusive policy and will make every effort to assist all children to integrate into our program. In consultation with families, the child, staff, management committee, and C&K early education consultant, appropriate support will be available.
There’s no defined catchment area for the kindergarten. While we find most families live in a close proximity (from Ashgrove, Bardon, Paddington, Red Hill and The Gap) we accept enrolments from families across Brisbane and our current preschoolers come as far as Samford and Everton Park.
Important note: To keep our community safe, and in accordance with the Public Health Act of 2005 (Qld), we require all children to be up to date with their scheduled vaccinations to attend Ashgrove West Kindy.
When you receive your offer.
Once your child has been offered a place and you accept the offer, a $100 enrolment deposit is required to secure your child’s placement at the centre. This enrolment deposit is non-refundable and confirms your child’s place. You can view our full fee schedule here.
In the unlikely event that not all places are filled by pre-prep aged children who are eligible for government funding by that process, Ashgrove West Kindy may make offers to other children no earlier than 3 weeks before the end of Term 4 (and after being advised by C&K that we are able to do so). The order in which those offers will be made and the conditions of such offers are set out in full in our Enrolment Policy.
