National Quality Framework
The National Quality Framework (NQF) provides a national approach to regulation, assessment and quality improvement for early childhood education and care services across Australia.
The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a high national benchmark for early childhood education and care services in Australia. The NQS includes 7 quality areas that are important outcomes for children. These quality areas include Educational Program and Practice; Children’s Health and Safety; Physical Environment; Staffing Arrangements; Relationships with Children; Collaborative partnerships with families and communities and Leadership and service management.
Services are assessed and rated by their regulatory authority against the NQS and given a rating for each of the 7 quality areas and an overall rating based on these results.
All C&K services aim to exceed the NQF. C&K Ashgrove West Preschool was assessed under the NQF in September 2014 and was advised in November 2014 that it had achieved an Overall Rating of “Exceeding”. This comprised an “Exceeding” rating for 6 of the 7 Quality Areas, and a “Meeting” rating for the other Quality Area. C&K Ashgrove West Preschool is proud of the rating it has achieved and welcomes families to review the assessment available at the Centre.
